Eyelashes are a big part of your look, but not all lashes are created equal. The right type and number of lashes can make an enormous difference in the way you look. If you are not satisfied with your lashes there is always an option to change them. In this article, we will give you some tips on how to glue eyelashes in five simple steps that will help you beautify your eyes.
How to apply false eyelashes
1. Gather all your materials and prepare fake lashes.
You will need to prepare the following materials:
- False lashes: There are many types of eyelashes to choose from on the market today. Some people like natural looking strip sets, but others enjoy how different styles with individual lash clusters add an extra pop of glamour. The variety between false lashes is amazing! You can find everything you want in length and curl as well as thickness.
- Eyelash glue: You will need an eyelash glue that is safe for your eyes and lashes. We recommend using a water-based glue as this will not irritate your eyes.
- A pair of tweezers: Using tweezers can make it easier for gripping the lashes but be careful because sometimes these tips have sharp edges which could scratch your eyes or damage other parts of yourself! We recommend you to practice with rubber-ended ones If this is your first time using fake eyelashes.
- Mirror stand or small hand mirror: something that can help you see the area where you are working
- Scissors
- Cotton balls or paper towels
- Water or make-up remover (optional): to clean up any accidental glue on your skin.

The first step is to measure how wide you want the falsies on either side of your eye and trim two more lash strips at that size with scissors.
2. Apply eyelash glue to the back of one false eyelash
Next, use the tweezers to pick up one side of the lash strip and apply a thin layer of glue to the lashes. Be careful not to put too much glue on the lash because that will cause it to crumble and fall off. You should also avoid putting any excess glue onto your natural lashes as well since this can irritate them or make them brittle over time.
Let this dry for about 15 -20 seconds before attaching it to your lid.
3. Place the fake lashes on top of your natural lash line
Use the tweezers to position the false eyelashes along your natural lash line, starting from the inside corner and working outward.
Remember when applying false lashes how important the placement of each individual lash strip on your lid is, especially around corners of the eye where tears might seep out and ruin any makeup look; try not to apply these types of falsies unless necessary because there’s no easy way to fix.
Once everything looks good press firmly over both ends until they stick securely against your natural lashes. Make sure you are not getting any glue in your eye.
4. Wait for them to dry
Wait for the glue to dry completely before you blink or touch it with anything else (or else they will stick together). If there is any residual glue on your skin, use a cotton ball dipped in water (or make-up remover) to gently peel off.
5. Finish by applying eyeliner and mascara to make them look as natural as possible!
Extra eyeliner and another coat of mascara will help to make the lashes look more natural if you are going for that full and dramatic lash look.
Gently use an eyelash curler if desired, but be sure not to press too hard as this can damage natural lashes or cause them to fall out prematurely
Now you have your new, long beautiful lashes! You can use the same process to put on more than one set of fake eyelashes if necessary or desired.
FAQs Glue Eyelashes
How long does glue on lashes last?
Proper application technique should allow for lashes to remain in place from two weeks to one month, depending on the quality of the glue.
Glue is temporary and will likely come off after 3-6 hours if you sweat excessively, swimming or go in chlorinated water. The glue should not be difficult to remove by using soap and water (no oil-based products needed) beforehand. Some glues may dry naturally after three days; others may take much longer.
How do you remove false eyelashes?
Here are tips for removing off false eyelashes.
1) Use a small amount of thick or oily eye makeup remover to break the adhesive.
2) Gently peel off one end at a time by carefully lifting up and out, starting from the roots of your natural lashes.
3) When you’ve removed the false lashes, wash your eyes with cold water to help stop any itching that may be caused by oil getting where it shouldn’t be.
4) Apply vitamin E oil on your lashes to prevent irritation or apply overnight cream if they feel sore and dry from removal (you can use a cotton swab).
NOTE: if the lashes are really stuck on and you’re not able to peel off one side at a time, use tweezers or cuticle scissors with rounded edges for gripping but be careful because sometimes these tips have sharp edges which could scratch your eyes or damage other parts of yourself!
Can I use nail glue for lashes?
No. Nail glue is not safe for the eyes and scalp because nail polish removes tougher.
For eyelash adhesive solution, the gentle conditioner-based formula will be much better than anything containing alcohol or acetone, which may damage the hair follicles at the base of the lashes.
Are individual lashes better than strips?
Individual lashes are great for those who like to add volume for a more dramatic or “feathery” look. It is also more natural-looking as the eyelashes are individualized with some extending far beyond the line of the eye and others stopping short of it, adding to the appearance of longer, parted fringe.
Strip lashes may be better for those who have sparse lash or hooded eyelids. Also, they are often easier to apply if you do not want too much attention drawn to your eyes by long thick lashes instead of just widening and opening them up as is done with individual lashes.
What do your needs dictate? Each person’s needs dictate what best suits them, so make sure you take into consideration both available time and desired appearance before choosing one over another!
